One permanent digital record per masterpiece. Verification completes when the physical license card matches that record.
What the record covers
Every physical masterpiece has one permanent digital license record. The record belongs to the work. There is no ownership field, no current owner, no transfer and no transfer history.
The license card number is entered by the administrator from the physical card. The system never generates it, and never validates it the way a payment card is validated.
How verification works
Scanning the QR code on the card sends the browser into a short-lived verification session. The token does not stay in the address bar, is never logged, and never reaches the verification screen at all.
To complete verification, the license card number is scanned or entered by hand. The comparison happens on the server, and only the server decides the outcome.
What the result says
A verified result says exactly this: a valid license record exists, and it matches the credentials presented.
When they do not match, one and the same response is returned. The difference between an unknown card, the wrong card and a revoked license is never disclosed.
Privacy on the verification pages
The verification pages carry no advertising pixel, no chat widget, no marketing tag and no third-party analytics.
They are never cached and never indexed. Measurement is server-side and aggregate only; no verification session or card number reaches an analytics provider.
Permanence and revocation
Nothing is ever hard-deleted. Revocation and archiving are state transitions, and each one is written to the audit trail.
A revoked card is never redirected to a replacement. From the moment of revocation, verification fails.
What software cannot do
Software cannot make a physical card impossible to copy. When the QR code and the card number are printed on the same card, a sufficiently good reproduction can carry both. We say so plainly.
Verification does not prove that the physical object is genuine. It proves that a valid license record exists and matches the credentials presented.
What the system does provide is a single authoritative record, immediate revocation, visual comparison against reference photography of the genuine piece, and an audit trail that makes abuse visible.
